Hal Hefner is an award winning Strategist, Writer and Creative Director specializing in Fan-Centric Strategies and Crafting Content That Resonates and Engages with audiences.

As a writer and marketing strategist in the entertainment world, Hal has worked with every major studio to create content for movies, gaming/TV, games and more, while specializing in Transmedia content, urban lore, horror, science fiction, children’s properties and animation.

At Catmonkey Studio, Hal specializes in creating groundbreaking transmedia experiences that redefine how fans interact with storytelling. At Catmonkey, Hal is rewriting the rules of storytelling. To him, it isn’t just content—it’s a new era of fan-driven narrative immersion that drives him to experiment and push the boundaries of what can be done. This is why Hal is one of the Entertainment industry’s go to creatives and strategic thinkers when it comes to deep narratives, experimental storytelling and “for fans by fans,” content.

As a Pop Artist, Hal’s art has been shown in Galleries all around the world and in 2016, his CONSUME series, inspired by John Carpenter’s, They Live was the featured theme at the Glastonbury’s Shangri-La area.

Hal is a firm believer in helping to shape the minds of the future and is a Professor of Transmedia Storytelling at RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology), his alma mater.  As one of the integral classes in their Entertainment immersion program in Los Angeles, Hal’s goal is to help usher in a new generation of multimedia creators who will shape the future of storytelling.
